Maradona accused of sexual harassment, physical violence

Late Footballer Diego Maradona has been accused by a Cuban woman of physically and sexually violating her and the reports about the incident were confirmed after she filed a complaint in the Argentinean courts.

The complaint was filed for alleged human trafficking which according to the woman was executed by the late footballer. Mavys Álvarez is the woman who filed the complaint where she claimed that she was in a relationship with Maradona when she was 16-years-old.

According to her, the former footballer subjected her to physical abuse and sexual violence and also introduced her to various kinds of drugs. The matter came into existence on Monday during a press conference in Buenos Aires where the victim had stated that the matter was covered up due to the close association of Fidel Castro’s government and Maradona’s close associates.

She was in a relationship with the former player for nearly five years and as per her, she started to face violence in the last two to three years of the relationship.

The football legend had to spend several years in Cuba to treat his cocaine addiction and it was Castro who had invited him to the country. This happened when he found out that Maradona had overdosed himself, an incident that nearly killed him.

She arrived in Buenos Aires last week to testify in the matter in front of the Argentine justice system in the sexual harassment case.

Maradona died last year in November but the representatives of the women council stressed targeting the close associates who helped cover the matter. This includes his former manager Guillermo Coppola and other Argentinean friends who were also present with him during his stay in Cuba.

Bangladesh Military Expresses Discontent Over Chinese Weapons; Reports 'Sub-Standard' and Faulty Parts

Bangladesh, a traditional buyer of Chinese military equipment, has raised grievances with Beijing regarding the delivery of defective components and technical malfunctions in its imported military hardware. This issue is not unique to Bangladesh, as other nations like Myanmar have also encountered problems with Chinese fighter jets, according to an ET report. Experts in the Chinese defense industry argue that Beijing lacks the expertise to manufacture highly sophisticated military hardware and is not yet considered a top-tier producer of modern defense equipment. They claim that much of China's weapon systems are based on outdated technology copied from the West. Developing countries often opt for Chinese weapons due to their lower cost compared to similar systems from Western countries. China sells arms through state-run export organizations like the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), NORINCO, and CVIC. Sources familiar with the matter told ET that the Bangladesh mil
