There has been a sudden rise in the Omicron cases in European countries and due to safety reasons, European authorities have decided to tighten the Covid-19 protocols. Most of the countries that have registered the most cases are Germany, Ireland, and Denmark.  These countries had relaxed their travel restrictions and hence it can be counted in few of the possible reasons why there has been a rising trend in the cases. Another reason is the upcoming holiday season of Christmas and New Year, which is why the authorities have decided to not waste any more time in applying certain restrictions.  France had already announced closing its border earlier this week to most non-resident Brits.
