 By joining and ratifying the UN Convention against Non-National Organized Crime and its protocols, the United Arab Emirates reaffirmed its commitment to helping fight the illicit trade in small guns and light weapons on a global scale. This was stated during a speech by Mohamed Suhail Al Neyadi, Director General of the Office of Weapons and Dangerous Materials of the Supreme Council for National Security, before a workshop yesterday in Tangiers, Morocco, organized by the League of Arab States in collaboration with the European Union and the Program of Small Arms Survey, the International Criminal Police Organ, to combat the illicit trafficking and proliferation of small arms and light weapons.
