(UNSC). India's permanent seat has also received support from other nations, including France and the UK. UAE minister Noura Bint Mohammed Al Kaabi congratulated India and its UN mission on what she called a "very successful" eight terms on the Security Council. The 193 UN member nations have the authority to accept binding responsibilities from the UN Security Council, which is charged with preserving world peace, prosperity, and security. The US, UK, France, China, and Russia are the five permanent members of the 15-nation Council, collectively known as the P5. They have all backed India's request for a permanent seat in the UN body.

There are more than 50 UN members who are not Security Council members. When the Council determines that the interests of that country are impacted, they may participate in debates without having a voice. Dame Barbara Woodward, the UK's permanent representative to the UN, advocated for India's permanent membership on Wednesday, arguing that the Security Council ought to be a more inclusive representation of the globe than it is at the moment.

Because more nations would have a voice in world affairs, the UK pushed for the increase of members in both the permanent and non-permanent categories. She reaffirmed the UK Foreign Secretary's public support for adding new permanent seats for Brazil, Germany, India, and Japan. The extension of the Security Council is supported by Paris, according to Ambassador Nicolas de Riviere, the Permanent Representative of France to the UN. This was done while taking into account the rise of new powers on a global scale. France promoted the election of Germany, Brazil, India, and Japan as permanent members as a result.

Earlier, Sergey Lavrov, the minister of finance for Russia, also backed India's bid for permanent membership in the UN Security Council. Regarding geopolitics and international affairs, Lavrov pointed out that India is a significant international actor. India is a deserving candidate for permanent membership, Lavrov emphasized in his address to the 77th UN General Assembly. With the exception of China, all four of the UNSC's permanent members support India's bid for membership.

Developing countries often opt for Chinese weapons due to their lower cost compared to similar systems from Western countries. China sells arms through state-run export organizations like the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), NORINCO, and CVIC. Sources familiar with the matter told ET that the Bangladesh mil...
