UAE highlights the importance of the economic development of tourism

 Recently, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), visited Atlantis The Royal, situated on Palm Jumeirah Island.

The visit highlighted the importance of the economic development of tourism. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also a Ruler of Dubai, said that tourism and the private sector of Dubai were the major contributors to UAE's economy.

Atlantis The Royal, a new ultra-luxury resort, spanning 406,000 square metres, supports the recently launched Dubai Economic Agenda D33’s goal to make Dubai one of the world’s top 3 global cities for tourism.

Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the importance of public-private sector partnerships for Dubai’s development vision. He reportedly said, “The UAE and Dubai aim to build on their deep partnerships with the private sector to strengthen the country’s status as the world’s most popular destination for tourism.”

During his visit to 43 stories high Atlantis The Royal, Sheikh Mohammed was briefed about the concept of the hotel by the management. It has an innovative sky garden concept.

Under D33, the Dubai authorities plan to add billions of dirhams to the economy. Sheikh Mohammed unveiled a 10-year growth plan for Dubai, highlighting the importance of foreign investments and tourism.

The UAE aims to invest in more than 100 projects under D33 in order to support private companies and create job opportunities for people. Public-private sector partnerships are important for the economy of the Emirates.

UAE's tourism sector welcomes everyone. Sheikh Mohammed aims to increase Dubai’s status as a liveable destination. Dubai has also retained the number one position in the world in terms of global tourism. 

Last year, Sheikh Mohammed announced the next phase of Dubai's 2040 Urban Master Plan. he highlighted the importance of easier commuting within Dubai. He also called on increasing foreign trade to Dh25 trillion and connecting Dubai with 400 new cities around the world.

Last year, Dubai was also ranked first in the world in international tourist spending, with $29.4 billion (108 billion dirhams), according to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTCC).
