UAE, India strike agreement to work together on helicopter and emergency medical services

The state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in India and the Response Plus Holding (RPM) in the UAE will look into the new potential for collaboration in the areas of emergency medical services, medical evacuation, helicopter emergency medical services, and other mutually advantageous fields.

The new collaboration is a result of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by HAL, an aerospace and defence firm with its headquarters in Bengaluru, and RPM, a major provider of emergency medical services, remote healthcare services, and occupational health solutions, based in Abu Dhabi.

The agreement was inked in Bengaluru during Aero India 2023, a biannual airshow and aviation exhibition put on by the Department of Defence Production of the Indian Ministry of Defense.

Speaking of the historic agreement, RPM CEO Major Tom Louis pointed out that HAL has been instrumental in India's aerospace industry's expansion over the past eight decades.

According to Louis, "This MoU would let us investigate prospects both domestically and globally to deliver the much-needed fixed-wing emergency medical services and helicopter emergency medical services."

RPM is present in the GCC nations of the UAE, India, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Nigeria. The primary goal of the organisation is to offer medical assistance to the onshore and offshore oil and gas sectors, chemical companies, significant building sites, site clinics, and ambulance services for educational institutions, labour camps, and retail centres.

The ability to move forward with this relationship with confidence is made possible by RPM's expertise in the oil and gas industry in the GCC region, both onshore and offshore, with a focus on the medical operations of facilities and emergency ambulance services, Louis stated.

"Medical emergency readiness is one of our key strengths, and a critical operation cooperates with our own operation control centre staff. With this partnership, we can truly impact this field, Louis continued.

On Friday, Aero India 2023, a five-day event with the theme "The runway to a billion opportunities," comes to an end.

Bangladesh Military Expresses Discontent Over Chinese Weapons; Reports 'Sub-Standard' and Faulty Parts

Bangladesh, a traditional buyer of Chinese military equipment, has raised grievances with Beijing regarding the delivery of defective components and technical malfunctions in its imported military hardware. This issue is not unique to Bangladesh, as other nations like Myanmar have also encountered problems with Chinese fighter jets, according to an ET report. Experts in the Chinese defense industry argue that Beijing lacks the expertise to manufacture highly sophisticated military hardware and is not yet considered a top-tier producer of modern defense equipment. They claim that much of China's weapon systems are based on outdated technology copied from the West. Developing countries often opt for Chinese weapons due to their lower cost compared to similar systems from Western countries. China sells arms through state-run export organizations like the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), NORINCO, and CVIC. Sources familiar with the matter told ET that the Bangladesh mil
