UAE astronauts discuss value of physical activity in space in new video series

A new film highlighting the value of fitness in space has been created, including Emirati astronaut Sultan AlNeyadi who is now in orbit, and Col. Hazzaa Al Mansouri who is currently based in Houston.

The Emirates Literary Foundation (ELF) in Space's first episode includes this.

Col. Mansouri also discusses the importance of exercise in space, how it differs from exercising on Earth, and how gravity and microgravity affect exercise choices in space.

Salem AlMarri, Director General, MBRSC, and Isobel Abulhoul, CEO and Trustee of the Emirates Literary Foundation, are also shown urging viewers to tune in and explaining what to anticipate in the upcoming episodes in the video.

Visitors from the UAE, Egypt, India, the UK, and the US tuned in to see the first episode, which saw more than 170 schools sign up to watch it.

Students can follow Sultan AlNeyadi's voyage on the orbital station for the following 20 weeks.

They will also get the chance to study from writers, specialists in space, and other astronauts like Nora AlMatrooshi, Hazzaa AlMansoori, and MBRSC team members. These people will talk about the difficulties of operating in space and the advancements that help to solve them.

Every Thursday at 8.30 am, a brand-new episode of https://elfinspace.ae/exercise-in-space/ will be made accessible for students to watch for free with subtitles.

To better help students comprehend how what they learn in class may affect their life and the world around them, each episode will concentrate on a new subject.

On the website https://elfinspace.ae, additional activities and resources will also be made available for download each week in an effort to keep students interested and encourage them to learn more about the topic independently.

The assignment for this week includes math and gravity difficulty problems.

For a chance to be published on the initiative's website or to be featured by Sultan AlNeyadi on the International Space Station, students can share their efforts on social media with the hashtag #ELFinSpace.

ELF In Space seeks to integrate space exploration into the core academic subjects. The program aims to motivate the following generation of astronauts by examining space science and igniting imagination.
