Elon Musk and Bernard Arnault, world's two richest people, meet in Paris

Elon Musk, the founder, CEO, and chief engineer of SpaceX; the CEO and product architect of Tesla, the owner, CTO, and chairman of Twitter, as well as Bernard Arnault, the founder, chairman, and chief executive officer (CEO) of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, met for lunch in Paris, the capital of France, on Friday.

The two richest people in the world had lunch together on June 16. Their pictures were shared on Instagram by Antoine Arnault, the oldest son of Bernard Arnault.

The head of the greatest luxury goods company in the world, LVMH, is 74-year-old French billionaire Bernard Arnault. His net worth is $233 billion. His net worth is just a few billion short of Elon Musk, the South African-born CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, who has a personal net worth of $236.9 billion, according to Forbes,

With an estimated $426 billion in combined wealth, it was not surprising that Musk, 51, and Arnault decided to have lunch in a lavish location in Paris. The two allegedly met at a Cheval Blanc hotel, part of Arnault's LVMH luxury hotel brand, to have lunch. Additionally, brands like Sephora, Bulgari, and Louis Vuitton are part of the LVMH portfolio.

Maye Musk, the mother of Elon Musk, also attended the lunch. Arnault was accompanied by his two sons – Antoine and Alexandre.

Earlier, Arnault said, “I know him (Elon Musk) and I think he is an exceptional entrepreneur.” He expressed his appreciation for Elon Musk.

Elon Musk is in Paris to attend the Viva Technology conference. The Tesla CEO will also meet French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss tech regulation and to promote France as a potential location for one of the EV manufacturer's factories. For the second time in less than a month, Musk will meet Macron. He met Macron and French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire on May 15.
