American Model Gigi Hadid Arrested for Possession of Marijuana on Cayman Island

Gigi Hadid, an American model and television personality, was arrested for possession of marijuana while vacationing on the Cayman Islands last week.

According to reports and sources, when Gigi and her friend landed on a private plane in the Cayman Islands, the officials examined her bags on suspicion of illegal narcotic possession.

According to Cayman Marl Road, the officials discovered "ganja and utensils used for the consumption of ganja" during their search.

Gigi and her friend were arrested on “suspicion of Importation of Ganja and Importation of Utensils used for the consumption of ganja.” The officials took them to the Prisoner Detention Center for possession of marijuana. They were eventually released on bail.

They were reportedly present in court on 12 July, where they pleaded guilty. The supermodel and her friend were fined $1,000. The duo did not face any additional charges.

Gigi Hadid's representative said in a statement, “Gigi was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license. It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear."

In recent months, reports emerged that Gigi had been linked to famous actor Leonardo Di Caprio. In early July, Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio and American supermodel Gigi Hadid were spotted at two separate parties in the Hamptons.

Earlier, Gigi was in a relationship with an English musician. Gigi Hadid has a daughter with Zayn Malik, an English musician and former member of boy band One Direction. Kai, their daughter, was born in September 2020. They reportedly ended their relationship in 2021. Reportedly, Malik pleaded not guilty to four counts of harassment against Hadid's mother, Yolanda. According to reports, a Pennsylvania judge sentenced him to 360 days of probation, as well as anger management and domestic violence classes.

Bangladesh Military Expresses Discontent Over Chinese Weapons; Reports 'Sub-Standard' and Faulty Parts

Bangladesh, a traditional buyer of Chinese military equipment, has raised grievances with Beijing regarding the delivery of defective components and technical malfunctions in its imported military hardware. This issue is not unique to Bangladesh, as other nations like Myanmar have also encountered problems with Chinese fighter jets, according to an ET report. Experts in the Chinese defense industry argue that Beijing lacks the expertise to manufacture highly sophisticated military hardware and is not yet considered a top-tier producer of modern defense equipment. They claim that much of China's weapon systems are based on outdated technology copied from the West. Developing countries often opt for Chinese weapons due to their lower cost compared to similar systems from Western countries. China sells arms through state-run export organizations like the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), NORINCO, and CVIC. Sources familiar with the matter told ET that the Bangladesh mil...

New Delhi has also reiterated its support for the denuclearisation in the Korean peninsula, underlining that it is “in collective interest” while also stressing that “dialogue and diplomacy” are preferred means to resolve the issue. The latest intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) test by the DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) has again sparked tensions between nations with the United States and its allies calling for the country to limit its programs even as Russia and China back Pyongyang amid the likelihood of new sanctions. In the latest UNSC meeting, the United States, Britain, France, and India were among 14 nations to "strongly condemn" the latest North Korea launch on Friday, which was reported to have landed about 125 miles (200 kilometers) from ...
