‘CM Vijayan sending people to hurt me physically,’ says Kerala Governor

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan claims that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is orchestrating physical harm against him, alleging that individuals affiliated with SFI (Students Federation of India) and DYFI (Democratic Youth Federation of India) struck his vehicle on both sides after surrounding it on Monday.

Blaming the Chief Minister for a conspiracy leading to a perceived collapse of constitutional order, Governor Khan expressed concerns over the use of intimidating tactics. Describing the situation as an attempt by 'gundas' (thugs) to assert control over Thiruvananthapuram's roads, he recounted stopping his car and confronting them to resist pressure.

Governor Khan also accused the state police of collusion with the individuals, asserting that they acted under the Chief Minister's directives. Recounting the incident, he stated, "They came before my car. They hit my car from both sides. I got down. Will they allow anyone to come near the car of the Chief Minister? Police knew them, but what can the police do when the CM is directing them? When I got down, they all got into their jeeps and ran away."

In response, BJP State President K Surendran condemned the alleged attempts to assault the Kerala Governor by members of SFI and DYFI, referring to them as criminals. The incident occurred amid ongoing protests by these youth organizations of the ruling party regarding the university appointment issue.
