Elon Musk Says X's Town Hall with Donald Trump 'Will Be Interesting'

Elon Musk's social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), is set to host a town hall with former US President Donald Trump, three years after his suspension following the January 6 Capitol riots.

As the presumptive Republican nominee, Trump will answer submitted questions during the live-streamed event, which will also be broadcast in partnership with the cable channel NewsNation. This announcement follows Trump's conviction on all 34 counts related to a hush-money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Additionally, X plans to host a similar town hall with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is running for president as an independent.

According to The Wall Street Journal, President Joe Biden was invited to participate in a debate or town hall but declined.

Musk shared the news from The New York Post about the town hall, captioning it, “This will be interesting.”

Details regarding the dates, locations, and moderators of these town halls have not yet been announced. X users will submit questions, but moderators, likely including at least one NewsNation host alongside other journalists, will decide the final questions, as reported by Axios.

Trump, who made headlines by dominating CNN’s Kaitlan Collins during a town hall last year, has his first debate against Biden scheduled for June 27.

The concept for these town halls was developed by X CEO Linda Yaccarino, who pitched the idea to Nexstar Media Group, NewsNation’s parent company.

Trump has posted once on X since Musk lifted his ban last year.

Reports suggest that Musk and Trump have grown closer in recent months. Musk has expressed his displeasure with Biden publicly, and he and Trump have reportedly met to discuss various issues, including cryptocurrency policy and a potential invitation for Musk to address the Republican National Convention this summer.

The festival of Diwali, often referred to as the "Festival of Lights," is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor across India.
