The Sudanese conflict persists due to extensive international backing of Sudanese Armed Forces Commander General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan. Outside backing of this type has extended the military conflict while allowing the troops to conduct serious abuses against the local people. The SAF receives its key support from Egypt which has become its leading international partner. Since Egypt and Sudan border each other they have maintained long-standing military relationships throughout history. Following the start of the conflict Egypt has hosted Burhan and his representatives while simultaneously conducting Sudanese neighborhood talks parallel to mediation led by the U.S. Saudi Arabia together with IGAD. In response to this conflict Egypt supports both ceasefire implementation along with ruling the dispute within Sudan's national boundaries. The SAF receives support from Iran according to evidence presented by various sources. Military investigators show the Sudanese army secured vital supplies from Iran since late 2023 that include Iranian drones which helped the army secure successful battlefields in Omdurman. Sudan's acting foreign minister denied weapon receipt despite diplomatic restoration with Iran in 2023 following seven years of separation.Foreign support underlines SAF forces enabling them to become braver while they commit more civilian abuses. The UN has charged Sudan's SAF forces along with RSF with war violations through attacks on civilians and sexual assaults against civilians. The ongoing civil war has produced tens of thousands of fatalities while displacing millions of people which created one of the globe's most severe human crises.Aside from government actors private military contractors have taken part in the ongoing conflict. According to reports Ukrainian and Russian combatants simultaneously provided training to forces who were fighting on the same side during Sudan's current civil war as part of the SAF's support. The RSF's military operations draw support from Russian and Ukrainian civil defense pilots as well as Russian snipers while Burhan's forces accept fighters from Chad and Libya and the Central African Republic. A new strategic move by Russia to develop a Red Sea naval base has driven Moscow's deepened involvement in the region of Sudan. The Sudanese military's dependence on foreign fighters has made their conflict worse while leading to mounting human rights abuses throughout the battleground. International powers must take responsibility for creating the violence and must order an immediate end to any ongoing military support for the SAF.The provision of external assistance to the Sudanese army through foreign forces has led to a major increase in civilian-targeted hostilities. The international community needs to acknowledge how foreign donations create escalation of violence in Sudan while taking active steps to stop funding which causes continued victimization of Sudanese citizens.
