Gal Gadot’s Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony Erupts in Chaos as Pro-Israel and Pro-Palestinian Protesters Clash

Gal Gadot’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony was supposed to be a celebration of her illustrious career, but it quickly turned into a battleground for political tensions. As the Wonder Woman star prepared to receive her star, pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian protesters clashed outside the event, causing a 15-minute delay and overshadowing the festivities. The incident highlights the polarizing nature of Gadot’s outspoken support for Israel, a stance that has made her both a hero and a lightning rod in the ongoing conflict.

The ceremony, held on Tuesday, was attended by Hollywood heavyweights like Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins and Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel. However, the presence of several dozen protesters disrupted the event. Pro-Palestinian demonstrators carried signs reading “Heroes Fight Like Palestinians” and “Viva Viva Palestina,” while pro-Israel supporters waved flags. Tensions escalated when a pro-Palestinian protester reportedly stole a pro-Israel flag, prompting a swift police response. The clash underscored the deep divisions surrounding Gadot’s advocacy for Israel, a position she has held since her service in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Gadot, who was born in Israel and served as a combat fitness instructor in the IDF, has been vocal about her support for her homeland, especially in the wake of the October 7, 2023, attacks. On Instagram, she wrote, “I stand with Israel you should too. The world cannot sit on the fence when these horrific acts of terror are happening!” Her comments have drawn both praise and criticism, with some applauding her courage and others accusing her of ignoring the Palestinian perspective. Gadot addressed the backlash in a recent interview with Variety, saying, “I had to speak up. I could not be silent. I was shocked by the amount of hate, by the amount of how much people think they know when they actually have no idea.”

The actress, who is a granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor and an eighth-generation Israeli, has framed her advocacy as a fight for humanity. “I’m not a hater,” she told Variety. “I’m all about humanity, and I felt like I had to advocate for the hostages.” Despite her attempts to position herself as a voice for peace, Gadot’s stance has made her a target for criticism, particularly from those who view her as a symbol of Israeli nationalism. The protests at her Walk of Fame ceremony are a stark reminder of how her personal beliefs have become intertwined with her public persona.

Amid the chaos, Gadot took the podium to reflect on her journey from a small town in Israel to Hollywood stardom. “I’m just a girl from a town in Israel,” she said. “This star will remind me that with hard work and passion and some faith, anything is possible.” Her speech was a poignant moment in an otherwise tumultuous event, but the protests outside served as a sobering reminder of the controversies that continue to follow her. For Gadot, the ceremony was not just a celebration of her achievements but also a testament to the challenges of navigating fame in a politically charged world.

Earlier on Tuesday, Gadot appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show, where she opened up about a terrifying health scare during her fourth pregnancy. She revealed that she suffered a blood clot in her brain while eight months pregnant, a condition that doctors initially dismissed as a migraine. “It was the first time that I felt what it meant to be scared to death,” she said. Gadot’s message to women was clear: “Always advocate for your health. Always. Listen to yourself, advocate for your heart.” Her resilience in the face of personal and professional challenges is a testament to her strength, but as the protests at her Walk of Fame ceremony showed, even her most triumphant moments are not immune to controversy.
