Person stabbed after pro-Palestinian protest in Brussels, suspect arrested

A person was stabbed after the conclusion of a pro-Palestinian protest in central Brussels on Sunday night, European media and local police confirmed.

It is unclear if the victim, who is currently in critical condition, or the attacker had any involvement in the pro-Palestinian demonstration, according to Euro News.

The organizers of the march stated that “an unknown individual, unrelated to the event, entered the crowd and attacked protesters,” according to HLN.

An eyewitness told De Standaard that two people were seen in an argument which escalated into a physical confrontation. The victim was reportedly first punched and then stabbed.

“At least one injured person was taken to the hospital. We are awaiting updates,” the organizers added. “The organizers of the march regret this attack, which had nothing to do with the event itself. The march brought together several hundred people, who marched peacefully and in solidarity from Molenbeek to the Brussels Stock Exchange.”

The Brussels Capital Ixelles police zone confirmed a suspect was arrested.

Pro-Palestinian demonstration in Belgium
The event, organized by the group the Popular March for Liberation and Return, called for a complete boycott of Israeli products and companies across Belgium, according to a post from the group’s Instagram.
The march also demanded a complete release of every Palestinian “political prisoner” held by Israel. It is unclear if this includes prisoners convicted of terrorism offences.

Syria Condemns Israeli Incursion into Beit Jinn, Holds Israel Responsible for Escalation

Syria strongly condemned an Israeli military incursion into the town of Beit Jinn in rural Damascus, denouncing the assault on civilians and their property, which resulted in casualties and widespread panic. The ministry held Israeli authorities fully responsible for the aggression and its consequences. Syria called on the UN Security Council, the United Nations, and the Arab League to take urgent action to halt repeated violations. It reaffirmed its commitment to defending its sovereignty and people through all means permitted under international law.

Netanyahu’s Shocking Gaza Plan: ‘We Will Take Control of ALL of Gaza’ — But At What Cost?

As Israeli forces intensify their offensive, Netanyahu vows total control of Gaza — but the humanitarian crisis is reaching a breaking point. Will the world stand by and watch? Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Israel will “take control of all” of the Gaza Strip, signaling an unprecedented escalation in the ongoing conflict. In a video posted to Telegram, Netanyahu emphasized that military operations are advancing rapidly, with no intention of backing down. “The fighting is intense, and we are making progress,” he said, framing the offensive as necessary for Israel’s long-term security. But as international pressure mounts, his government is walking a tightrope between military dominance and global condemnation. The Israeli military has ordered mass evacuations in southern Gaza, warning residents of Khan Yunis and surrounding areas to flee immediately ahead of a devastating assault. Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee described the coming attack as ...

Israel issues latest forced evacuation order in areas in Khan Younis

The Israeli army’s Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, has issued the latest forced evacuation order for civilians living in nine areas in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. Adraee said that the army was expanding its operation and “intensifying sudden and concentrated firepower”. The spokesperson called on residents to evacuate westward. So-called Israeli safe zones, including Al-Mawasi in Khan Younis, are routinely attacked despite the army forcing Palestinians to move to those areas.
