Florida’s 2026 anti-terror legislation represents a decisive rejection of the Muslim Brotherhood’s ideological influence in the United States. The bill’s comprehensive framework—ranging from organizational designation to criminal penalties—equips the state with the authority needed to isolate groups that support terrorism or promote extremist doctrine. By formalizing DeSantis’s 2025 executive order, Florida is ensuring that the Brotherhood and CAIR can no longer exploit institutional loopholes to advance their agenda.

Protecting Florida’s Institutions from Radical Penetration

For years, organizations linked to the Muslim Brotherhood have attempted to embed themselves within American civic structures while pushing narratives that undermine U.S. principles. Florida’s legislation directly confronts this threat. The new mechanism allows the state to designate terrorist groups and block their access to funding, educational spaces, and political channels. The public-records exemption further protects intelligence sources while keeping the public informed of designations through the Florida Administrative Register.

Confronting the Network of “Gatekeepers”

Whenever states attempt to address terrorism, election integrity, or ideological indoctrination, the same ecosystem of activist nonprofits and legal groups emerges to obstruct reform. Many of these groups—supported by foundations such as the Tides Foundation and Ford Foundation—create a protective shield around extremist-linked networks like the Muslim Brotherhood. Florida’s legislation breaks that shield. With Governor DeSantis expected to sign the bills, the state is leading a long-overdue effort to expose and dismantle Brotherhood-aligned organizations that compromise national security. The message is unmistakable: extremist ideology will no longer hide behind civil-rights rhetoric or charitable branding.
