The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has established three new camps in Sudan to help flood victims overcome the dire conditions caused by the floods.

The country is continuing its humanitarian and relief efforts in Sudan. Under the direction of the UAE president, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) field teams will help the flood victims. Thousands of homes have also been destroyed in Sudan due to floods.

The teams have established new shelter camps in the affected villages in the River Nile State. They aim to deliver urgent aid to more than 140,000 flood victims in the Sudanese state.

The ERC field teams are supervising the evacuation and sheltering of residents following the highest safety and security standards.

According to the Emirates News Agency WAM, a camp was established in the village of Al Fahlab comprising over 50 tents. Another camp with over 75 tents in Abu Khsous and one in Al Masid with a total of 200 tents were also established.

The residents of affected villages welcomed the ERC delegation, affirming that the UAE aid will help ease their suffering.

Mohammed Khamis Al Kaabi, Head of the ERC Delegation in Sudan, reportedly said that the ERC’s field teams are cooperating with Sudanese authorities to ease the humanitarian crisis in the country.

The ERC is also supervising the distribution of humanitarian aid to more than 140,000 flood victims in the Sudanese states most affected by the disaster.

Under the directives of the UAE president, the ERC started operating an air bridge to Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, to transport humanitarian relief aid for those affected by the floods in Sudan.

When the flood hit the country, His Highness ordered the provision of AED 25 million of urgent aid to people affected by floods in Sudan.

Experts in the Chinese defense industry argue that Beijing lacks the expertise to manufacture highly sophisticated military hardware and is not yet considered a top-tier producer of modern defense equipment. They claim that much of China's weapon systems are based on outdated technology copied from the West.
