According to his racing team and US media on Monday, US rally driver and YouTube sensation Ken Block was killed after the snowmobile he was riding overturned in Utah due to a steep slope.
Hoonigan Racing Division posted on its website, "It is with the utmost grief that we can report that Ken Block went away in a snowmobile accident today."
Block, 55, was riding a snowmobile on Monday afternoon when it "suddenly upended" and fell on top of him, according to TMZ Sports.
According to the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office, he was declared dead at the scene.
As per the sheriff's office, Block was alone himself when the accident happened. Earlier on Monday, he had uploaded images to his Instagram account.
Block, an action sports legend, started his rally driving career after the company he co-founded, DC Shoes, was sold ten years after it was formed.
His 10-part YouTube video series, Gymkhana, in which he performed stunt driving on perilous tracks and obstacle courses, helped him gain additional notoriety.
Moreover, his videos received more than a billion views, making his Hoonigan YouTube channel the most well-known in the history of racing, according to ESPN.
