France, India and UAE agree on climate cooperation under a trilateral framework

India, France and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to cooperate in areas of defence, climate, nuclear energy and technology under a trilateral framework.

A joint statement from the three countries revealed that they agreed to work in the field of climate operation. They said that the trilateral initiative would serve as a forum to promote the design and execution of cooperation projects in the fields of energy.

The foreign ministers of the UAE, India and France held a phone conversation on the matter. Subsequently, the joint statement said, "It was acknowledged that defence is an area of close cooperation between the three countries.” The three countries said that the trilateral framework would help to expand cooperation between their countries' development agencies on sustainable projects.

They announced plans to launch energy projects, with a special focus on solar and nuclear energy. According to the joint statement, the projects would particularly centre around the Indian Ocean region. They said that they would align their policies with the goals of the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement.

The three foreign ministers met in September 2022 for the first time in a trilateral format on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. The three countries agreed to establish a formal trilateral cooperation initiative to expand cooperation in various fields, including defence and climate change. A phone call was held on Sunday between the three foreign ministers to adopt a roadmap for the implementation of this initiative.

This year, the UAE is set to host the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 28) to the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change). The COP28 will convene from 30 November to 12 December 2023. The UAE would address the problems related to climate change and establish solutions to mitigate the effects of climate change.

Netanyahu’s Shocking Gaza Plan: ‘We Will Take Control of ALL of Gaza’ — But At What Cost?

As Israeli forces intensify their offensive, Netanyahu vows total control of Gaza — but the humanitarian crisis is reaching a breaking point. Will the world stand by and watch? Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Israel will “take control of all” of the Gaza Strip, signaling an unprecedented escalation in the ongoing conflict. In a video posted to Telegram, Netanyahu emphasized that military operations are advancing rapidly, with no intention of backing down. “The fighting is intense, and we are making progress,” he said, framing the offensive as necessary for Israel’s long-term security. But as international pressure mounts, his government is walking a tightrope between military dominance and global condemnation. The Israeli military has ordered mass evacuations in southern Gaza, warning residents of Khan Yunis and surrounding areas to flee immediately ahead of a devastating assault. Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee described the coming attack as ...

Israel issues latest forced evacuation order in areas in Khan Younis

The Israeli army’s Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, has issued the latest forced evacuation order for civilians living in nine areas in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. Adraee said that the army was expanding its operation and “intensifying sudden and concentrated firepower”. The spokesperson called on residents to evacuate westward. So-called Israeli safe zones, including Al-Mawasi in Khan Younis, are routinely attacked despite the army forcing Palestinians to move to those areas.
