Tech billionaire Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter Inc., has explained why he might not be able to challenge Meta CEO’s Mark Zuckerberg this month. Musk stated that the fight's exact date is uncertain and that he may require surgery before his cage fight with Meta CEO.
In reply to a post by X News Daily about the cage fight, Elon Musk said, “Exact date is still in flux. I’m getting an MRI of my neck & upper back tomorrow. I may require surgery before the fight can happen.”
Elon Musk was responding to a screenshot by Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted on Threads app where he said that the Twitter CEO did not decide on a date for the eagerly anticipated match. Meta said that he had proposed August 26 as a potential date.
Mark said, “I'm ready today. I suggested August 26 when he (Elon Musk) first challenged, but he hasn't confirmed.”
On Sunday, Twitter owner Musk revealed that the cage match between him and Mark Zuckerberg will be live aired on X (previously Twitter), and the earnings will go to a veterans' organization. However, another source of dispute has emerged over the choice of streaming service for the showdown between the two tech billionaires.
Following the announcement by Elon Musk, Mark said, “Shouldn't we use a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity?" Earlier, the Twitter owner said, “If the fight is short, I will probably win. If long, he may win.”
In June, there were reports that Elon Musk and Mark agreed to fight each other in a cage match. At that time, it was not known whether the clash between the two tech titans would take place or whether Musk's tweets about the cage fight were real. At that time, they wrote on social media that they were "up for a cage fight.”
