UAE-India’s joint efforts to counter pandemic and other regional issues

India and the United Arab Emirates share a lot of common values that bring them closer as partner nations when compared to others. The commonalities between them, their culture, and their heritage bring them closer to each other.

It is also reflected in the way they tackle major, global issues. Be it the ones that are happening regionally or the ones that have impacted the whole world for example covid pandemic, the dedication shown by the two nations is unparalleled.

The two nations have not only found a way out to help the neighboring countries during the pandemic but have also decided to fight the battle together by giving proper assistance. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, India and UAE continued to work closely together.

Things became easy for Indians living in the UAE after the first lockdown was announced. It was assumed that they would have a difficult time but the UAE leaders made an effort to provide the best possible care to the Indian nationals and make them feel safe and at home.

Even India stuck to its promise by giving every possible support to the UAE. The leaders reassured the UAE by continuing the supply chains even during the peak covid times, especially with regards to health and food security.

The dedication showed how important the partnership is for the two nations and how they plan on strengthening it further in the coming days.

India also showed strong belief in humanitarian efforts which were earlier shown by the UAE by helping Ukraine with aid. New Delhi announced sending aid to a war-torn Ukraine to help it battle the process of Russian invasion, also subtly sending Russia a message with the act.

The Arab nation too sent emergency aid to the European nation after an attempted invasion knowing the status of the civilians there. The UAE sent an aircraft carrying 30 metric tonnes of emergency health aid and medical supplies showing support for the lives of people and at least providing them with some relief during tough times.
