 According to the most recent update made public by the "Passport Index" website of Arton Capital Consulting, the UAE passport now has 177 countries that permit its holder to access without a previous visa, maintaining its top spot on the list of the world's most powerful passports.

According to Passport Index, the UAE passport allows its holder entry into 177 nations around the world, including 120 nations that do not require a visa and 57 that do. However, 21 nations require a prior visa.

Out of a total of 198 countries worldwide, he noted that UAE passport holders can currently travel to 89.4% of those nations without a prior visa. 

The passports of 11 countries, including Germany, Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, and South Korea, were ranked second after the UAE passport in the most recent ranking of the world's most powerful passports, allowing their holders entry to 173 countries visa-free. The passports of 8 other countries, which permit entry to 172 countries, were ranked third.

The Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Australia are among the nations it ranks fourth in the list of six passports that its holder can access without a visa, and Singapore, Malta, Lithuania, Slovakia, and Canada rank fifth with visa-free travel to 170 countries. 

The UAE places granting citizens freedom of movement at the top of its list of priorities. The benefits of this freedom extend beyond allowing UAE citizens to travel freely; they also include economic, humanitarian, and even developmental benefits by facilitating trade and financial investment for both individuals and institutions.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security has started issuing a new generation of Emirati passports, with exceptional technical features that keep pace with the government's goals and advance the process of development and modernization, as well as embodying the civilized position that the United Arab Emirates has reached within the range of government services offered and in response to the most recent security and technological advancements.

The UAE passport maintained the top spot in the world in terms of strength according to the international categorization on the "Passport Index" website at the beginning of the year 2020 and prior to the Corona pandemic spreading since it ascended to the top spot in December 2018. 

The passport granted entry to 178 nations, including 118 without a prior visa and 60 with an electronic visa or a visa obtained at the airport.
