The National Centre of Meteorology reports that the UAE has experienced its wettest month in 27 years. Twitter Says It Accepts Elon Musk's October Trial Over $44 Billion Deal

 Twitter said yes to a proposal by billionaire Elon Musk to start a trial on October 17 over Musk's bid to walk away from his $44 billion acquisition deal of the social media company. However, Twitter wants a commitment from Musk to complete the trial in five days.  Twitter said in a court filing on Wednesday that Elon Musk has offered no assurance the trial would be completed in five days, as ordered by the judge, Kathaleen McCormick of the Delaware Court of Chancery. The San Francisco-based company wanted to complete the deal soon.  Musk reportedly said he needs time to complete an investigation on Twitter's misrepresentation of fake accounts, which he said breached their deal terms. Musk initially sought a February trial, but on Tuesday proposed an October 17 trial after a judge ruled that the trial was to start in three months.  The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has eased its visa norms, making it easier for foreigners to buy properties and live there for the long term.  The new rules, introduced in April 2022, particularly related to the UAE’s Golden Visa, provide long-term visas to foreigners without the need for a national sponsor. Earlier, foreigners could only stay in the UAE if they had an Emirati sponsor.  The new rules will officially come into effect this September. Why is the Golden Visa important? Golden Visa holders can stay in the UAE for 10 years. They can also enjoy some “exclusive benefits” under the new system. They can sponsor family members, including spouses and children, regardless of their age. The Golden Visa will be issued for 5 or 10 years and will be renewed automatically. There is no restriction on the maximum duration of stay outside the UAE to keep the Golden Visa valid. The US and the UAE have tentatively agreed to a $980.4 million deal for "upgrades and sustainment" of the UAE's fleet of C-17 cargo planes. The State Department's ratification of the agreement was warmly received by the UAE embassy in the US, which also praised the aircraft's contribution to the delivery of COVID-19 and humanitarian goods.  Shinzo Abe, Japan's former Prime Minister, was shot in the chest during an election speech on Friday morning. The incident took place in Nara town, in south-central Honshu, where he was addressing an election meeting ahead of Sunday's polling for the Upper House of the Parliament.  United States scientists have developed a new Covid-19 test that can identify all current variants of Covid-19 accurately within hours.  The United Arab Emirates’ 1000-square-meter field hospital has begun operations in Afghanistan after a strong earthquake wreaked havoc in the country last month.  Under the direction of the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan , the UAE has been helping Afghanistan by providing a wide-ranging relief aid package.
